SASSA CARD SWITCH ON 20 MARCH 2025

All SASSA beneficiaries need to switch their gold Postbank cards to the new black Postbank cards or alternatively,  switch to a bank payment before 20 March 2025. After this date, gold cards will no longer be valid.

Consequences of Not Switching

• You will not be able to withdraw money.
• You will not be able to check your balance.
• You will not receive your monthly grant.

Card Switch Locations in Langeberg

Unfortunately, there are currently no locations within the Langeberg Municipal area where beneficiaries can complete the card switch.  Postbank is still in the process of sourcing a site in Robertson, which will be communicated to all SASSA beneficiaries and stakeholders as soon as it is known. The nearest location where the new black card is issued is Shoprite in Durban Street, Worcester, operating Monday to Friday (08:00 - 17:00).

Alternative Payment Option: Receiving Grants via Bank Account

Beneficiaries can also choose to have their grants paid directly into their personal bank accounts. To arrange this, beneficiaries need to submit the following documents on or before 20 March 2025:

• Proof of own bank account (third-party accounts are not allowed)
• Copy of ID
• Completed Consent Form for Bank Change Payment (click here to download)
• Completed Declaration and Consent Form (click here)

To assist with this process, the Worcester Local SASSA Office has identified specific sites that will host Special Outreach Programs focused solely on changing the method of payment to your personal bank account.

• Thursday, 27 February 2025 – Wilhelm Thys Community Hall, Montagu
• Monday, 3 March 2025 – Barnard Community Hall, Ashton
• Tuesday, 4 March 2025 – McGregor Community Hall

Please Note: If a beneficiary has previously applied for a grant in another region, they will be required to review their application since the new region does not have access to their previous records.
